A large North American forest products corporation uses ALDATA Software’s Scale Boss at over 100 of its weigh scale sites. Scale Boss has increased the validity and accuracy of load data collection and made the entry of data much more efficient. The company uses a centralized system of payment and load tickets from all sites must be transferred to a central accounting center. For this transfer, ALDATA has designed a replication technology that ensures that all load tickets are transferred and confirmed by the central accounting center. Scale Boss has significantly reduced the number of incomplete or incorrect load tickets submitted for payment and has streamlined the transfer of data between the weigh scale and the central accounting system, where the vendor payments are ultimately processed. Increasing the accuracy of data collection and interfacing the scale system with the accounting system saves this client significant resources and improves relationships with its wood suppliers.

Yard Boss is used by another large North American forest products corporation that accounts for and manages its inventory on a load basis and by piece scale. The company uses Yard Boss for their timberlands accounting and inventory management activities. We have designed a flexible interface technology that provides for the seamless transfer of log scale data from the company’s handheld scaling units to ALDATA’s Yard Boss system. The client actively uses the log scale data to manage their inventory and to best match supply with demands of its customers. Recently ALDATA incorporated a function into the system that tracks wood suppliers’ forest certification status. The new function enables the client to demonstrate which logs originate from an SFI certified source. Yard Boss connects each log to our client’s timberlands operation and forest certification efforts.
